Cheri Vilona's artistry begins by interpreting and abstracting images from our compelling American countryside, communicating a sense of place seen and imagined.  Each oil and mixed media painting invites visual interaction and is an insight into her deeply rooted inspiration from all things landscape; the warmth of our sun, dramatic and exciting cloud shapes, powerful skies with inspiring sunset colors, silver atmospheric distant clouds and skies.  

 

Cheri's recent body of work has moved forward towards further abstractions in both color and shape, challenging one’s view of recognizable landscape within gestures, color responses, movement of line and forms.  The finished works create through gestures and artist marks a sense of imagery connecting emotion and recognition together.
